New Year – Is it Time for A New Career?

Is it time for a new career in the new year? As the new year approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on where you’ve been, how you liked it, and where you go from there. If you’re pondering a whole new career in 2020, this could be the year where your dreams become a reality! To get from here to there, you should start by asking yourself some important questions.

What do I want to be when I grow up

Figuring out what kind of career will take you to your happy place is a big decision. So, before you answer quickly and say cowboy or pastry chef, (without remembering you’re allergic to horses and oh yeah, wheat) you may want to carefully consider your response. It’s important to weigh the pros and cons of any career you’re thinking of pursuing. Be realistic about whether you see yourself doing that particular job on a daily basis.

Where do I want to be

Were you raised in the country but LOVE the hustle and bustle of a noisy city? Or were you raised in an urban jungle and long for the charm of a small town? Let’s face it, figuring out where you want to live is as important as figuring out what you want to do.

What type of work environment is right for me

Are you a people person who loves to chat up everyone around you or do you prefer to work in quiet solitude? You can imagine there are careers where being the outgoing, gregarious type is a plus. But then again, if you dream of becoming a librarian surrounded by books and literature, being over-talkative might not be beneficial. Identifying the right work environment is pretty important considering you will be spending a lot of time in it.

What’s your number

Meaning, the number of dollars you need not just to live, but to pay for your dream career. Money cannot buy happiness, but not having the finances to enjoy your life can certainly contribute to unhappiness. So yes, you have to consider your potential earnings and the financial investment you’ll need to make.  Putting the right financial formula in place can help you be prepared for the journey that lies ahead.

Holiday Party Hair Styles

What’s trending for holiday party hair styles? It’s safe to
say, most of us have enough things to worry about with crossing off our holiday
to-do list. Pulling off the perfect look for the office Christmas party is probably
somewhere toward the top. Fortunately, you found an absolutely epic party dress,
and you’ve formulated a solid plan for pairing it with just the right makeup.
But no holiday look would be complete without the perfect holiday party hair. For
a little inspiration, check out some hot holiday hairstyles decking the halls
everywhere this season!

Fa-la-la-la-lob

A lob may seem sort of ordinary but with a few simple
adjustments, it’s anything but! Pin smooth, side-swept bangs with a pretty
bedazzled clip or bobby pin and flip the ends up, “it-girl” style. Retro meets
mod for a festive nod to holiday glamour.

High, but halfway up

The half up, half down look gets an even more dramatic flair
by pulling the up portion high atop your head. Secure it with a pretty
pearl encrusted clip or a festive holiday style bow.

Not your average top knot

A beautifully messy top knot, just above the shoulder waves,
is super sweet and whimsical and perfect for a holiday party!

Vintage glam

Channel your inner Marilyn with old-Hollywood waves on shorter to
mid-length hair. Use large hot rollers or a large barreled curling wand to
achieve this elegant style.

Waterfall waves

If you’re blessed with long hair for days, loose, waterfall waves are
romantic and festive at the same time. Jazz it up a little further by pinning
up one side with a jewel encrusted barrette.

Braid it – any way you want

A crown encircling milkmaid braid, a side swept French braid, or a
glamourous fishtail braid down the center of your back – if you braid it, heads
will turn! Grab a black or crimson colored velvet ribbon for the end of a long
braid for an extra touch of holiday spirit.

The holidays are a special time of year filled with things
we’ll always remember. So, why not mark the occasion this year with an
unforgettable look! If you love creating signature looks, you might be a
candidate for a career in the world of cosmetology! It’s the perfect time to

Party Nails You Cannot Live Without

Party Nails You Cannot Live Without

Colder weather is already here and it’s time to show off your best, including those party nails you cannot live without! Party nails are a must for all those holiday get-togethers headed your way. It’s time to wow the crowd with a festive look that says bring on the fun! To help you finish your ideal party look, check out this season’s party nails you are going to need in your life.

Chasing Stars

You can wish upon ten stars with this star-crazed style. Start with a clear lacquer and then finish it off with a 5-point star. Paint the star in black or white polish in the center of each nail. Dab a little of the clear lacquer in the center of each star and apply sparkly gems, sequins, or glitter.

Plum Crazy

Because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean red and green are your only options! A vibrant plum polish is even more gorgeous paired with a gold or silver painted snowflake. Use a metallic polish to get that holiday foil look.

Foiled Again

Speaking of foil, put metallic foil-looking flakes over clear polish. It’s simple but packs a punch in the style department!

Keep it Ornamental

These party nails are so simple to pull off! Paint a straight line from the center of your cuticles about one-third of the way. Then draw a sideways “C” and a small rounded “ornament top.” The bulb of the ornament is a circle painted under the end of your ornament hanger using clear polish. Decorate each nail random with a mixture of glitter, sequins, or even colorful stripes.

Holiday French

This is a twist on the classic French manicure. It can be for whatever holiday you happen to be celebrating. This is your basic white-tipped French manicure, but instead of clear polish as a base, try a deep festive red. Or glam it up with a black base, white tips, and a placed gem in the center at the tip of each nail.

Icicles Baby

This frosty, but elegant look starts with a base polish in the palest blue you can find. Start at the tip of your nail, and paint alternating icicles. Use white, light gray, and silver glitter, finishing with a pointed tip to get that spiked icicle look.

Pulling together the perfect party nails this season doesn’t have to be difficult. Not to mention, it’s a great way to let your hands do the talking.
