Our Basics course includes three photo shoots to help you build a makeup career portfolio. This will be your first step in pursuing a career in beauty salon makeup services, weddings, sales, consulting, applications at makeup counters, etc. But remember, your makeup education doesn’t have to end with Basics, as Shore offers an Advanced class as well. Shore offers Makeup as a continued education program. As such, you are required to hold a Cosmetology & Hairstyling or Skin Care Specialty license to enroll in this program.
The Makeup class covers fundamentals of the face including: shape, condition and corrective techniques. You will also learn day, evening and fantasy applications – with special emphasis on the elements of the face (i.e., eyes, nose, lips and cheeks). Intensive product knowledge, tools of the trade, sanitation and other aspects of the business are reviewed in this course.
